RECONSTRUCTED MEMORIES
The following images are a series of narratives involving Vancouver students. The images were taken as collection of stories retold through personal trauma. The images were meant to act as both a reflection of their memory and as a representation of the fleeting details of their encounters. Each time the stories were retold, they would be told from the memory and experience they now held. The concept for the images pulls from Suzan Sontag's notion of 'chronic voyeuristic relation' where she argues that the individual who seeks to record cannot intervene, and that the person who intervenes cannot then faithfully record, for the two aims contradict each other.
